Fortus Recruitment Group Limited are a recruitment company that specialise in placing people within the repairs and maintenance industry.

An established housing organisation is looking for a Deep Clean/ Damp and Mould Operative to join their maintenance team on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on role working across residential properties, dealing with damp, mould, insulation and general maintenance issues.

The Role:

• Attend occupied properties to carry out damp and mould treatment

   

• Complete deep cleaning and mould removal works

   

• Inspect and re-lay loft insulation where required

   

• Investigate signs of leaks and carry out basic remedial works

   

• Complete minor plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating tasks

   

• Carry out general cleaning and estate maintenance duties when required

   

• Work safely with cleaning chemicals and in line with COSHH requirements

   

• Work within loft spaces and carry out tasks above shoulder height

   

• Communicate professionally with residents and provide a customer-focused service

   

• Complete works independently and maintain high standards of health and safety

   

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in a maintenance, cleaning, caretaking or similar hands-on role

   

• Basic DIY / handyman / labouring skills

   

• Ideally some experience with plumbing, carpentry or painting and decorating

   

• Good problem-solving and organisational skills

   

• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload

   

• Good communication and customer service skills

   

• Physically capable of carrying out the duties required

   

• Good understanding of health and safety and safe working practices

   

Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence

   

• Willingness to work in loft spaces and residential properties

   

• Ability to safely handle mould treatment chemicals

   

• Enhanced DBS required
