About the Role
We are looking to expand our Disrepair Surveying team and are seeking experienced Surveyors to join the Property Services function. Reporting to the Senior Disrepair Surveyor, you will manage a varied caseload of complex disrepair and complaint cases across a diverse housing portfolio.
The role will involve managing both new and historic cases, with a strong emphasis on providing accurate, detailed information to support clear and timely resolutions for residents.
Key Responsibilities
The housing portfolio includes new build homes, converted street properties, high-rise buildings, flats, and purpose-built blocks. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge across different construction types and an understanding of the challenges associated with each.
Travel is an essential part of the role due to the wide geographical spread of the housing stock. Applicants must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
You will work closely with in-house and external legal teams to support the resolution of disrepair cases. Responsibilities include inspecting properties, preparing detailed survey reports and specifications, and ensuring compliance with building standards and relevant legislation, including the Housing Conditions Protocol and the Fitness for Human Habitation Act.
The role requires a broad skill set, including building and property surveying, project management, budget control, and the ability to manage a fast-paced and varied workload.
You will be expected to manage your own caseload effectively, prioritise work independently, and communicate professionally with a wide range of stakeholders. These include residents, contractors, legal representatives, and local authorities. A significant proportion of the role involves case management alongside traditional surveying duties. Confident use of digital systems for tracking and managing case information is essential.
Customer Focus
This is a socially rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a real difference to residents and the wider community. A strong commitment to customer service is essential.
